La Berrière

Victor de Goulaine

Victor de Goulaine took the helm of Château de la Grange in 2020, marking a significant moment in his journey as he stepped into the shoes of his father, Baudouin. Following in his father’s footsteps, Victor initially joined the estate in 2017, where he spent three valuable years learning the intricacies of winemaking and vineyard management.

Located 36 km south of Nantes in the Côtes de Grandlieu AOC, the vineyard thrives in a unique climate influenced by the nearby ‘Lac de Grand Lieu’ and the Atlantic Ocean. This prime location allows for an earlier ripening of grapes, setting Château de la Grange’s wines apart in the Muscadet region.

The estate has a rich history dating back to the 15th century, with the Goulaine family taking ownership in 1777. The legacy of winemaking runs deep, and Victor was eager to continue the traditions established by his family. After his father took over the estate in 1981 and expanded its reach, it was Victor’s turn to honor that legacy.

Now, as the sole manager of Château de la Grange, Victor remains dedicated to the family’s commitment to excellence in winemaking. He meticulously oversees all aspects of the estate, from cultivation to vinification and bottling, always aiming to produce wines that reflect the hard work and passion that have been passed down through generations. With each harvest, Victor not only carries on the family tradition but also looks to the future, eager to make his own mark on the estate’s storied history.
