Denise’s path to the wine business wasn’t direct. After years as a Fuels Pricing Analyst for a major oil company, she channeled her passion for food and wine, along with her hospitality experience, into launching a wine import and distribution company in 1992.

Denise eventually sold that business and went to work for one of the large distributors running their Houston fine wine division. She later made the leap to a regional director position with another wine importer and finally came full circle to start her own wine brokerage business, Renaissances Wine Marketing, in 2010.

You might run into her in the best restaurants and fine wine shops, as well as airports across Texas and surrounding states. Denise is a Certified Specialist of Wine with the Society of Wine Educators (SWE). In addition to her membership in Les Dames d’Escoffier since 2012, Denise is a founding member and past Chairperson of the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo International Wine Competition & Auction Committee where she continues to volunteer and serve as a judge for the competition. Denise is also a founding board member for Women of Wine Charities where she served as President for 7 years and continues to volunteer. Beyond wine, Denise enjoys baseball, travel, historic preservation, antiques, cooking, and entertaining.

When she’s not championing her clients’ wines, you’ll likely find her immersed in a home repair project for her historic Houston Heights home, with her two gentle giants—Sam and Pearl—close by, or sharing food, wine, and laughter with friends and family.
