Departures Magazine Says: Chilled Pizay All Day!

Departures Recommends “Refreshing” Pizay Morgon for Summer Sipping!

A new Departures Magazine article recommends refreshing chilled reds all summer long, namely Château de Pizay Morgon from DMS Wine.

Pizay Morgon chills well because it’s lower in alcohol with “a balance between fruit and spice, and enough acidity to make your mouth water,” writes Brian Freeman in Departures.

“Gently chilling the right red will not only make it more refreshing, but will also render the fruit more lively and the acidity more pronounced,” says Freeman.

Pizay Morgon fits the bill with “aromas of fresh cherries, wild strawberries, and hint of cherry pastry creme, setting the stage for punchy flavors of cranberries, raspberries, tart red cherries, rhubarb, and scrubby herbs framed with a hint of blood orange,” Freeman writes of the Beaujolais wine with 45-year vine age.

But be careful not to over-chill, he warns, saying “cold red wine is often bitterly tanic and feels out of balance.”

Pizay Morgon has a Diam cork, meaning no corked bottles. Ever. Cheers!
