Romain was born in Alsace. Trained as an agricultural technician, oenologist and holder of a diploma in the marketing of wines and spirits at the university of Dijon. He has been working in Beaujolais and Burgundy regions for several years.
Romain started working at Château de Pizay in August 2021 for his first harvest season. Discovering all the plots of vines of the estate from Pizay to Régnié and Brouilly Chateau de Saint-Lager. Working closely with the team both manual and mechanical harvesting.
He also works in the cellar, taking care of the new crop that later on becomes the new vintage in vats.
Romain is the successor of Pascal Dufaitre, the previous winemaker of Pizay for over 30 years. Romain is following Pascal’s footsteps, keeping tradition alive but adding his own approach to the winemaking techniques.
